Markers (sometimescalled cues) are locations that you define in a waveform. Markersmake it easy to navigate within a waveform to make a selection, perform edits, or play back audio.

In Adobe Audition, a marker can be either a point ora range. A point refers to a specific time positionwithin a waveform (for instance, 1:08.566 from the start of thefile). A range has both a start time and an end time (for example, all of the waveform from 1:08.566 to 3:07.379). You can drag startand end markers for a range to different times.

In the timeline at the top of the Editor panel, markers havewhite handles you can select, drag, or right‑click to access additionalcommands.

A little history - I have been recording a podcast for nearly a decade using audition from back in the day right up to version 2019 when I paused the cast in May that year. I have now returned to the cast and as per usual Adobe have a new version out and I've updated. I upgraded from Cool Edit Pro to Audition 1.0 and then 3.0 a long time ago. I have re-installed the software and now I can't find the 3.0 serial number. However, I do have the 1.0 serial number. Customer services have been unable to help, although they have supplied me with a serial number. It will display Adobe Audition 3.0, go down and download the 352 MB file, then select a download server and choose which one you prefer, then open a window and select where you want to save this file.
